The keto diet has recently gained considerable popularity and is now a staple in the nutrition world. The ketosis diet, sometimes called the keto miracle diet, is a high-fiber, adequate-nutrient, low-carb diet that’s used primarily to treat children with hard-to-conceive epilepsy. The ketones that are created by the breakdown of fat are used as a fuel source for the brain. Another reason to consider going on the keto diet is that eating many carbs will make it much harder for your body to absorb the nutrients that it needs. Eating lots of carbs means that your blood sugar level can drop too low, causing a condition called hypoglycemia. If you eat too many carbs, your body will need to break down the excess glucose and replenish it with glucose from somewhere else. In this case, you might end up using more body fat to replace the carbs than you were before you began the keto diet.

So if you’re looking to lose weight through intermittent fasting, be sure to stay away from any kind of carb-rich food such as rice, pasta, bread, and even fruits (unless you’re trying to lose weight, of course). Instead, focus your eating on vegetables, protein, and unsaturated fats like avocado and flaxseed oil. These options will keep your calorie intake consistent and help you stick to your fat loss goals. And since you’re replacing those unhealthy carbs with healthy fiber and natural, wholefoods, you’ll enjoy the health benefits of ketosis and weight loss simultaneously!
