Is Keto a Good Diet?
“Is Keto a good diet?” This is a question I get asked quite often. When I first heard about this diet I was very skeptical. But, I gave it a try and found it to be all it was hyped up to be. Now that I’m more advanced in my weight loss goals, I know it’s a great diet to go on. Let me explain what the benefits are and why you should consider this diet for your weight loss needs.
First of all, if you’ve ever heard of a “fast day”. That’s the day you go on a liquid diet. It’s very convenient and you can usually do it without much thought other than a few glasses of water. This diet is supposed to make you lose fat because the liquid speeds up your metabolism.
However, this isn’t the only way your body burns fat. Your body also uses fat as an energy source. So, when you cut out carbs and rely more on fat it’s going to take longer for your body to burn fat. You’ll start to notice it slowing down as your body adjusts to the change. That’s why you’re losing fat while eating less. It took time for your body to adjust to a lower carb diet.
It’s very important to keep in mind that cutting out carbs doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself on purpose. You can’t starve your body of carbs in any way. This goes for alcohol as well. You need to give your body some carbs so that it can start to repair itself. So, no fast day!
Another thing I learned about this diet is that it does NOT help with weight loss. In fact, the only way to lose weight is through proper nutrition. When you starve yourself, this is what happens.
So, is to a good diet for losing weight? Well, let me put it this way. If you want to lose weight and keep it off, you will have to make changes other than cutting out carbs and sugar. Your body will need to be supplied with the right amount of protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats. Keto is simply a supplement to a much larger diet plan.
One other thing to note is that you don’t want to cut out all carbs from your diet. Keeping some carbs in your diet is important for proper digestion. It is essential for burning fat, too. You just have to know that carbs are important to your body and which aren’t.
For example, some say that you should completely eliminate all foods with refined flour from your diet, because it causes weight loss. This is not true. When your digestive system overworks refined carbs, they are converted into fat. Cutting them out of your diet is a bad idea, but eliminating them from your diet doesn’t mean that you have eliminated carbs from your diet, either.
Another question people often ask about keto diets is, “Can I eat all fat?”. Yes, you can eat all fat, as long as it is natural fat from fish or flax seeds. Just make sure that the fat is not going to make you fat. If you happen to eat any red meat or processed food, you should limit your intake of those, too. Otherwise, you are eating carbs that will turn into fat if you overeat them.
Is to a good diet for long-term weight loss? Yes, as long as you are making it part of your daily diet. Just be sure that you are eating healthy fats instead of unhealthy saturated fats. Eating more fish each week is also a good idea, as long as you make sure you eat a wide variety of fish. Also, doing aerobic exercise three to four times a week is also encouraged.
Can you get leaner naturally while following a keto diet? Yes, you can. You can get leaner without exercising by increasing your calorie intake significantly and reducing your carbohydrate consumption. This is the first phase of a two-phase weight-loss program, but it’s an important one. Just by reducing the amount of carbohydrates you take in during the day will help you start feeling much better.
The last question most people have is, “Is to a good diet for long-term weight loss?” This is a tricky question. It really all depends on your lifestyle and health situation. If you are already in pretty good shape, then probably yes.
