There are so many Garcinia Cambogia products like Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia on the market today that sifting through them to find one that is not a scam has become a mission. I have tried a number of these products and have been disappointed time and again. Though I have had some hits there are still far too many misses. The reason is that the FDA does not regulate neither what is sold nor how it’s sold so the websites can guarantee and promise anything without actually having to stand by their word.
What is Garcinia Cambogia and Where does it Come From?
Garcinia Cambogia is a pumpkin shaped fruit found in Southeast Asia and India. Consumed by natives for centuries in its raw form or as a flavoring agent it has numerous beneficial properties. Hunters in the past had used it to help suppress their appetite all the while giving them energy on long hunts. It was first made popular to Westerners by Dr. Oz and quickly became a supplement hit. So much so that today there are so many scam supplements on the market that finding a genuine Garcinia Cambogia product is a mission.
What makes Garcinia Cambogia so effective is its high consistency of Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) which is claimed to help suppress appetite, boost energy, improve mood, and help block fat. The higher HCA in the supplement the more effective it is. Though there is no Supplement Facts sheet available on the official Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia website to actually confirm this but they claim that it has 60% HCA which is above the recommended amount by Dr. Oz.
Is Hydroxycitric Acid Really Effective and What is it?
The official Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia website discusses Hydroxycitric Acid briefly but also goes on to say that you don’t have to diet or exercise to see results. This is not true, nothing gives you results without effort so don’t fall for it. If you want results, work out at least a little and just mind what you eat.
With that said how Hydroxycitric Acid works is it helps block fat by inhibiting a key enzyme found in the body, Citrate Lyase. This enzyme is blocked from forming in turn it cannot create fat from sugars you consume, thus they aren’t stored as fat. By inhibiting the enzyme HCA completely stops the fat making process. If you combine this with a regular workout and a decent diet you will see great results, actually, you will see great results even without taking a supplement and just focusing on your body.
I have researched further into the claims of HCA found in Garcinia Cambogia and found that it is possible that it can boost exercise performance. Though there are claims of this it still hasn’t been researched enough to confirm. By boosting your energy you will be able to spend more time focusing on your body and health all the while helping you get faster results from your workout.
Another claim is that it suppresses appetite. Though this sounds fantastic and many swear by it is actually not confirmed as there is little research into these claims. The way that HCA helps suppress appetite is by releasing serotonin which is the feel good neurotransmitter thus improving your mood and preventing binges by emotional eaters.
One thing that did irritate me in the official Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia website is that they claim that you will see results even without workout or diet. Though I will discuss my personal experience further down, this is not recommended and will most likely fail you. There is no “magic pill” for losing weight. There are a number of ways you can help your body lose weight and perhaps speed up the process but the first part of weight loss is a healthier lifestyle.
What Worries Me
I was hoping for a Supplement Facts sheet or image. Though I know the active ingredient in the supplement is HCA extract from Garcinia Cambogia I am concerned about additional ingredients used for the development of the pills. Since supplements are not regulated by the FDA you simply cannot trust their word on what the supplement contains or its possible effects, this means you must do the legwork yourself to ensure you are not doing your body any harm. What I do is always turn to the Terms & Conditions to get as much information as possible as in many cases there is very actually a lot more useful information there than in the official website.
Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia also claims that there are no side effects of HCA extract. This however, is not true:
- Dry Mouth
- Upset Stomach
It’s good to also remember that back in 2009 the FDA stepped in and recommended that anyone taking a Garcinia Cambogia supplement should stop immediately. This was due to several cases of serious liver problems following taking supplements containing the ingredient. Unfortunately research could not confirm if this was due to Garcinia Cambogia or another ingredient found in the supplements. There are conflicting reviews, opinions, and researches done on the topic and there are good arguments on both sides of whether Garcinia Cambogia is safe or dangerous so take at your own risk.
I Took Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia: This is my Experience
In order for me to give you a true review I had to actually take the supplement. This is my experience:
Ordering and Shipping: Honestly, their purchasing process is kind of difficult to understand and so are their prices especially if you try and dig deeper in their Terms & Conditions. With that said I decided I would take the supplement for 1 month so I chose the Start Pack at $59.00 each. There is an option for a 3 Month Supply at $39 each, and 5 Month Supply at $29 each as well. It’s important to note that in the Terms & Conditions they discuss being part of a membership plan so I did call after the 15 day trial was over to cancel it just in case. I ordered and it took approximately 4 days to get the package and started straight away. The first 2 weeks I will take the supplement without changing anything, the second two weeks I will work towards a healthier diet and more exercise so I can compare the results.
Week 1: It was as close to hell as I am going to get, hopefully. At this point I was hoping that it was just my body getting accustomed to the supplement as I raced back and forth to the bathroom with an excruciating headache. Perhaps I am over exaggerating bit but it certainly was not pleasant. Lost about 2 pounds which was impressive but honestly, it all came from the fact that I spent more time in the bathroom than I have in the past year and my fear of food and its consequences.
Week 2: Things improved a bit as I was in the bathroom much less and my headache had subsided. Went back to my normal daily routine which included eating and limited workout. I felt more energetic and can say that aside from some dilemmas in the bathroom things were pretty much back to normal. Total weight lost 1 pound.
Week 3: Taking it to the next level starting with my 3rd week I started eating a healthier breakfast, which basically meant eating breakfast as this is not common for me. I also got rid of my snack food such as chips and chocolate and replaced with something healthier. Also picked up some workouts including going to a Zumba class 3 times a week and more serious walks with the dogs rather than just around the block. Physically I felt pretty good, side effects have almost completely subsided but the fear of them will never leave me. I felt energetic and the added exercise was actually more enjoyable than expected. Total weight loss about 3 pounds.
Week 4: I got into the routine much faster than expected and the Zumba classes are actually a lot more fun than I originally thought. Not sure if it’s the Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia or the exercise that is giving me such a boost. I can’t say I have felt a loss of appetite throughout the whole month but the change in diet has helped me make healthier choices aside from that I still eat regularly and until I am full, sometimes a bit more. Total weight loss at about 3 pounds.
My weight fluctuated over this timeframe and I can’t honestly say that it was the supplement that actually helped me lose the weight. The first week was hell and though I lost 3 pounds I don’t think that this was the way it was supposed to happen. It didn’t burn fat, help prevent fat from forming, or reduce my appetite, it just caused severe diarrhea and fear of food. If this is the way it’s supposed to work then they are certainly not advertising the right way. From week 3 on I honestly think that my exercise and diet are what helped me get these results. Total weight lost for one month: 9 pounds.
Prices, Terms, and Returns?
Well, they do state risk free but I was unable to test this out as I actually purchased the supplement for the full month but in the Terms and Conditions you have 14 days to try and return if you are not happy. It’s kind of strange as when purchasing you are not given a trial option where you just pay the shipping and handling so I am unsure how this goes exactly. Perhaps you get your money back for the original purchase? Not sure. With that said the Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia has different prices depending on where you are located, and the prices range, at least in the Terms and Conditions. Sticking to US dollars in the terms you are given a price of $70 however in the website when you go to purchase the highest price is $59, with a note that you are saving $20 so it doesn’t really match. Also as there is no information about the trial option in the website I am not sure which is correct now.
They briefly touch upon terms for their membership auto-ship program however it’s rather confusing and very brief. Nothing is mentioned in the website either so I am guessing there is not auto ship program. I still called and canceled after 15 days of ordering the supplement just in case. The price packages are as follows:
- 5 Month Supply – $29.00 Each
- 3 Month Supply – $39.00 Each
- 1 Month Supply – $59.00 Each
Everything seems pretty secure as far as payment goes and you get the bottle within the next 5 business days. I don’t recommend you order on a Friday or over the Weekend if you want to get your bottle fast because it will take longer. I was very skeptical when I ordered and honestly am happy that I used my online card rather than my bank card because I have a hard time trusting websites like these. I have not received any unapproved charges but have experienced it in the past so I recommend you have one card that you deem as an online card and add funds only when necessary to make online purchases.
Do I Recommend Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia or is it a SCAM?
If you ask me I recommend first trying to make a change in diet and exercise before turning to supplements. Time can always be found and it is essential that you consider your option before looking for a pill alternative. With that said I honestly am not sure if it was Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia or my exercise and diet change that gave me the results the second half of my month experiment. With the drastic drop in the second month of taking the supplement I am leaning more towards my life changes. I have continued with my exercise and diet, though not too strictly, since I stopped taking Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia and continue to see results. The lack of information and inconsistencies in the website are what concern me as they have not paid enough attention to detail to prevent them. I personally think that Lipo G3 Garcinia Cambogia may be a scam and there are better alternatives such as small changes in your everyday life that could give you the results you seek.
